Day Seven - Khepri

She was Nefera's mother and Alumhotep's wife, though she died giving birth to Nefera. In her life, she was discovered as a baby on the steps of the temple of Bastet in the city of Bubastis, and the priestesses there raised her into an effervescent, happy, but stubborn and strong-willed girl and priestess.

The sun diadem Nefera constantly wears was originally hers, a wedding gift from the priestesses who raised her because her name, Khepri, means "morning sun". She liked to swim in the Nile (in fact, this is what she was doing when Alumhotep met her) and dancing and honey cakes with dates and cats. With her vibrant green eyes, supple hips, and lush lips a lot of men were in love with her, Alumhotep is the one she chose.

Her strong will did not stop with her death. Her spirit is still around, watching over her husband and daughter and their little extended family unit (Aleksios, Anayo, et al). It was she who pulled Hikai into the past, to help them all get closure.

Khepri has one known reincarnation: Kalila, Vanessa's mother in the modern day. Originally I'd planned for her to be dead too but maybe she lives in that timeline, since that's supposed to be everyone's happy ending and all.
